There are plenty of reasons to be grumpy about Europe: the old continent lacks cyclical growth, Germany is in a malaise, fiscal policy is being tightened, France is tipping towards a political crisis, Chinese competition looms and sabers are being rattled across the Atlantic over trade. Our panel will consider all these factors, yet also ask whether the gloom is overdone given that almost no one asking what happens if things go right, or prove to be not as bad as expected.
