Germans go to the polls in a week and a half, where they are likely to pick a new government. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank has denied media reports that it is considering raising interest rates early, energy prices seem to be going wild and next week will see meetings by both the Riksbank and the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee. In other words, there is no shortage of news and events that may make markets jittery.
